Does the DDX7015 fit in an 03

just like the subject says..

Does the DDX7015 fit in the 03 F-150 Supercrew Lariat

Crutchfield say it will fit in the 04 but not the 03??

What is the difference and what do I need to do to make it fit in the 03?

The opening on the '03 and newer models is not a double-din height size. You will have to do some mods to get it to fit.

I thought everything 97 & up is double-din. I've wedged two single din units in my 99-expy!

I'd say it will fit and look just fine but you prolly will have to custom mount it so the slider can move correctly. With the dash the way it is you'll have to bring it out some me thinks.

Can you define "do some mods" ?
I was planning on doing the install myself but if the double din won't fit, I guess I will have to go with a flip screen and I am not a fan of those.

Alot of stereo places locally will not install stereo equipment unless it was purchased from them.

The opening for a head unit in the F150 is a 1 1/2 DIN size. The DDX7015 is a 2 DIN or Double DIN chassis. Meaning the height of the DDX7015 is too much to fit in the factory opening on the F150. Mods will require cutting the height of the opening in your dash to make it a Double DIN size.
