Thumbs up Alpine Multimedia System 2004 SCAB

I am getting ready to upgrade my '04 Scab with an Alpine mutimedia system. I have purchased an Alpine IVA-D900 mutimedia unit to be delivered in a week or 2.

https://www.f150online.com/galleries....cfm?gnum=5247

It has a 7" screen an has some serious audio and video potential.
http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/...in=10&p_more=y

I plan to have ALPINE SPR-136A 5.25" TYPE R Component speakes up front and leave the stock in the rear for filler. I am going to install a ALPINE SWR-1041D 10" SUB DUAL 4 OHM VOICE COIL Sub under the drivers rear seat. All the speakers will be pushed by one ALPINE MRV-F450 V12 5 /4 / 3 CHANNEL POWER AMP which is a 5 channel rated at 50 watts RMS x 4 for the front and rear and 200 watts RMS x 1 for the sub.

Later additions to the Alpine brain will be a PXA-H700 Multimedia Manager™,Digital Signal Processor/Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro-Logic/Dolby Pro-Logic ll/DTS Decoder, 8" flipdown rear seat monitor, XM radio, wireless RF for headphones and ipod connectivity.

I travel a lot so it may be a month or two before I get the basics installed.

Any suggestions for location of components. I am liable to run out room quick!!

Can I make a suggestion on not spending the large amount of $$$ for the 5 channel amp and getting a one 4 channel amp and one 2channel amp(bridged for sub) or a mono amp for the sub. Also I do not think the stock speakers will withstand the 50 watts RMS you intend to throw at them. I just ordered the same sub as you and the Alpine MRP-M350 amp that pushes 350 watts RMS at 2 ohms. I plan to go with the alpine MRP-T220(2 channel) that pushes 40 watts RMS at 4 ohms to a set of alpine SPS-571A component 5X7 speakers. I got my sub for 97 bux and got my MRP-M350 amp for 134.99 and can get the speakers for 99 and the 2 channel amp for 99 as well through www.etronics.com . Hope this helps. As for my system, Ile get pics by the end of next week.

Yeah

Hey Vandy that's the same set-up I want. Let me know how you arrange the space. I plan to put in two 10" subs under the rear seat but I'm not too sure where to put the sound processor, the amps and the cd changer; also I plan to put in a roof monitor with a tv tuner so I'm really wondering about the space...

I was really surprised how small the 350Watt RMS amp is. Takes about as much floor space as the sub.

Heres a side view of the beautiful basket and heavy magnet that is 64 oz.

Follow-up

Nothing new yet. I am only in town a week a month for the next couple of months. I bought an Ai-net and fiber optic cable that will run to my processor "Dolby 5.1". I also purchaed a video by-pass box to let the player run while in motion and some other misc stuff. The IVA-D900 head unit will still be a week to 2 weeks out before I receive it. Thanks for the pics and keep me posted. I agree with the room issue. Going to have to get pretty creative to make it all fit.

Purchase Time

So far I have bought:
Alpine IVA-D900 head unit and brain
ALPINE Fiber Optic Audio Cable
Alpine PXA-H510 5.1 DTS Surround Processor
Alpine Center Channel Speaker w/ Amp
Pac TR-7 TR7 Alpine Video Bypass
Alpine ai-net Cable

Yet to purchase:
ALPINE SPR-136A 5.25" TYPE R COMPONENT 2-WAY(Front)

Alpine SPS-570A 5"x7"/6"x8" 2-way Speakers(Rear)

4 channel amp for front & rear speakers

ALPINE SWR-1041D 10" SUB DUAL 4 OHM VOICE COIL

Mono amp for sub

2004 FORD F150 SUPERCREW OR SUPERCAB NEW BODY TRUCK SINGLE DOWNFIRE SUBWOOFER ENCLOSURE
Features:
holds one 8inch or one 10Inch sub
5.25" of mounting depth
.6 cubic feet of air volume
3/4" MDF
Speaker box terminals
OEM carpet available to match your interior
http://www.supercrewsound.com/showprod2.asp?prodid=74

I am going with a single 10" down fire to save room for equipment mounting under the rear passagener seat. One 10" with a good amp should do the trick under the rear drivers seat.

Mounting locations available in my Scab should be interesting.

I will be out of town all next week so I will check back in a couple of weeks.

Vandy out.

Got yah

That's cool Vandy. Got more questions for you though.
1. Why don't you power your door speakers from the IVA D900 amp?
2. What does the AI-net cable do?
3. Is the fiber optic audio cable better than rca?
4. I never knew there was a PXA-H510, only knew PXA-H700?

Well keep me posted....

1. I would rather overtask or overheat an external amp instead of the $1000 head unit.

2. AI-net is kind of like USB connection on a computer, plug & play any Alpine AI-net changer, XM receiver, etc and you can control them from the head unit.

3. Digital output from the head to the processor will give you true DTS for Dolby surround movies and music.

4. The 510 has pretty much the same functions as the 700 and still has Digital Parametric EQ with Automatic Digital Time Correction for $300 NIB at 1/2 the cost of a 700.
