If you wait a couple of months, the AVN5495 will support sat radio. I have the avn2454 and it rocks. You can always plug sat in the aux inputs. That is how mine is set up and it works great. not to mention the navigation is much better than the kenwood...and I guess I dont even need to mention the quality...Eclipse quality is far beyond the kenwood..

wirelessness:

Where did you mount the DVD nav drive?

pepatrick:

I spoke with Eclipse last week asking some questions about the AVN5495. I like the fact that it has the built in 30 GB drive that will A) hold all the info off the Nav DVD, so you can load it and forget it, and it will automatically rip CD's, but according to Eclipse, it does not currently have any SAT support, and later this year they may make a change and re-release it with sat support, but it's not in stone yet. That is the deal breaker for me.

The DVD nav drive is built into the head unit.

I mounted the Kenwood nav unit vertically in the back part of the center console. Fits fine and does not take up too much room.

KingRanch,I bought the Garmin Streetpilot 2610 with a 256mb memory card.We just came back from Daytona today, never got lost once. The only drawback I see in our units is when you leave your vehicle you have to hide it or take it with you... The wrong person spots it and it's going to be gone..

About to install a new version of Eclipse Nav HU tomorrow. The '05 model of the Eclipse HU is Sirius Sat ready.
Not only that for a coulpe of extra bucks Eclipse has a unit coming out in a couple of weeks that has a Hard Drive. Entire Nav DVD will be stored on Hard Drive.
Honestly I can't wait for new unit with HD, and it's really more bucks.
I'll let everyone know how new unit works.

The reverse sensing system is separate from the navigation system. There is no interaction.

The use of the backup camera does not require a reverse sensing system, it just requires a wire be tied to your backup lights so that it knows when you are in reverse.

reverse sensing system

I know that the navigation system is separate . How about the audio would it lower the volume of the radio(aftermarket) when the reverse sensing system is activated?
