Question 04 F-150, Questions on Kenwood DDX7015 2-DIN In-Dash 6.5" DVD/CD/MP3/WMA Receiver?

I own a 04 F-150 Lariat Supercrew with rear entertainment, audiophile system, 6 Disc CD changer.

Will I be able to view the head unit and roof DVD at the same time? I was told I could trick the head unit into believing I was stationary and it will work while driving? Can I still use the steering wheel controls with the Kenwood head unit? Will I be able to use the Ford Wireless head sets with the Kenwood?

Also thinking about putting a JL Audio sub & Amp in the Ford factory box under the rear seat, anybody do this yet?.

Thanks

Here's a link to the Specs...

all you have to do is ground the wire connected to the emergency brake to a regular ground and wallah video will work all the time.

are you sure there is a connection to the parking brake? i only see a vehicle speed signal. pin 13, looking into the connector to the radio (female) its the second from the right on the bottom of the connector.

ground that and your radio will always think its stopped. vehicle sensative volume will not work, but i hate that feature anyways.

try it.

mine was installed yesterday, and the installer was nice enough to "accidentally" ground it so it plays video when moving. He said it was a line to the emergency brake.

I got my 7015 installed last week. I also added the 10 cd changer, HD radio tuner and the Sirius satellite tuner. Along with the installation of the 7015 I installed the PAC SWI-X remote. All works great. Aer0cool thanks for the photos. I mounted my "eye" for the remote just like your installer did and it works great.

I may add the factory sub for added lowend. Haven't decided yet. As soon as i can I will post pictures of the installation.

ddx-7015 and backup camera

I installed the HU and a backup camera. I am happy with the total package. Take a look at the photos here.

Camera feed

Check the pictures. There is a OEM loom that carries break lights, reverse sensor lines, etc. along the left side of the truck. At about the drivers door hinge, the loom goes throught a rubber plug (up) and inside the truck. It comes out at the left kick panel.

question for you guys with the rear view camera.

How did you wire it in, so that it comes on when the car is in reverse ?

I was wondering if I wired the dc cord end to the back up light (and off coarse ground) if that would work ?

Doesn't say anything about this in the 7015 manual

Thanks in advance!

That is a thought but I went directly into the head unit. It is always on, when I choose to view the R-CAM, meaning I control when it is on by the head unit, not the shifter...

You have an interesting thought though.

Let us know if you get it to work.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.
