Anyone in the Omaha Nebraska area?
Well its alive, I am seasoned the smoker Saturday morning and cooked a pan of baked beans, 3 slabs of spares, and a chuck roast.
Here is the smoker coming up to temp.

I forgot to get pics of the food plated. I had family come over to eat so I was a busy night.
Here are the ribs before going on the smoker, with my homemade rub.

Here they are getting ready to come off, finished with homemade bbq sauce.

They were all cooked nice and even, and had great flavor. I would have to put them with in my top 3 personal best rib cooks. I had the smoker going for about 11 hours and used about 10 lbs of lump, so I am pretty happy with it. I did have a few kinks that I am working out but overall I would call it a success. I think this thing will produce stellar food once I learn to cook on it.

Thanks guys, and I am busy for a couple weeks but we could start throwing around something in the middle or the end of April?
STi Update
Got some urethane mudflaps installed a week or two ago:

Don't forget to replace your cabin air filters!! Doubt this has ever been replaced in the 80,000 miles that are on my car:

Also am getting a full 3" turboback catless exhaust system ready to go. Got the downpipe thermal wrapped and sprayed in the nice weather yesterday. Have a catback system that will connect to it to complete the system. Then I am taking it to Omaha to have the ECU custom tuned. It should be a beast!

Also plumbed in an electric boost gauge this weekend, but waiting for the gauge pod to arrive so can mount it. Will also have a wideband o2 sensor installed into the downpipe since it already has a bung for it right at the top in the cast area.

That car is looking good! Love that you took the time to wrap it in thermal tape as well. Anytime on a weekend you want some ribs Ty just hit me up we can cook some, it takes me right at 6 hours religiously to cook the ribs and about 1-2 hours to get the smoker up to temp.
Well guys depending on how fast the truck gets back from the body shop will also affect when we have the get together. I am taking it in today to see but should be too long only one door needs to be painted.
It seems that some construction worker was lazy and decided not to properly put away the construction adhesive and it bounced off his truck. Then it splattered hit my truck and ate through the clear coat. The only way to fix clear coat is to repaint base and then shoot new clear on it so I have to get the door repainted.

Also some input on a get together date would be great guys and what we would want to cook. I could get all the meat, and do a donation type deal to cover the food or what do you guys think. Since bbq takes a while I figured I would start the cooking before anyone shows up so we could eat at a reasonable time.
Typically a Saturday or Sunday afternoon would work best for me. Some Saturdays I work but again if it's in the afternoon I'm done with work by 3pm. I think a donation would work great. Once we get a tally of who all is attending, we divide up the costs evenly amongst ourselves so it's fair for everyone. Maybe then some of us can bring some side dishes along too for additional help. It will take some planning, but it will be minimal.
So anyone want to throw out some possible dates?
Sorry to hear about your truck - hope the body shop gets it fixed right and quickly!

Well we can do it any weekend, my truck won't be able to get into the shop until the 25th of april so no point in holding off on that. Mircale workers have done work on the truck 2 times before this and matched paint perfectly. They are good just long waits unfortunately, but they don't cut corners so its worth it.
Saturday generally works better for me myself. And an evening get together would probably be best, and allow for a little cooler weather.
As far as meats go brisket and pork but will be the cheapest but take the longest, ribs or loin are pretty quick but still take about 6 hours but are going to be more expensive in the long run. If I do ribs and you want an extra rack or something to take home we can make arrangements for me to throw another on the pit.
The 14th or 21st or April would work for me, depending on what works for everyone else or we can go later it doesn't need to be April.

You got it man! Depending on when this all goes down, I really should have the full 3" TBE (turbo-back exhaust) installed and have the ecu tuned. From what I've read, a full tbe and tune is good for an additional 50 horsepower rouguhly. So that puts me to 350 hp and 325+ tq. It's already a rocket - can't wait to see what the exhaust and tune will do for it!
And I'm just looking forward to getting together with you guys again! It's been quite a while since we've done anything together. Think the last meet was at culvers two summers ago already??
