Anyone in the Omaha Nebraska area?
Your not going to get rid of the truck are you?
And hope everyone got to enjoy the good weather yesterday. I know I got the truck washed, waxed, I repainted the wiper blade arms, tow hooks and tow hitch, topped off fluids, changed oil, cleaned and conditioned the leather, rewired my hook ups to the battery with something that I could get jumper cables on (was a pita to jump start people with the old ones), dropped the spare cleaned it up and spray painted the rim just to help slow down rusting, and rotated tires.
It sounds like a lot but it really went fast and still had time to ride the horses.

Nope, not getting rid of it. If anything, hoping to save money on fuel. Truck is payed off, looking to buy a decent daily driver for cash, then have the truck as more of a play toy, hobby / money pit.
Hoping to find a decent Honda or Subaru to run around in. Looking for a 5 speed for some fun. I've never had a Subaru, but have heard good things about their longevity. Just need some room for my 8 and 10 year old in the back.

I thought you were going to get a bike? Great fuel mileage and a ton of fun! I put on over 200 miles this past Saturday, anyone else get out in this beatiful weather?
05 - If you want to come and do all that to my truck I wouldn't stop ya!!! I really need to spend some time on it soon.

Yes, I wanted to get a bike, but the priority of having a vehicle that won't kill me on gas that I can still haul my kids around in took over.

Can't wait to make some runs again hopefully we can arrange a few throughout this summer. I need to get the spark plugs replaced as per the maintenance schedule on it too. Guess I need to get my butt going the weather is basically here! Also need a new front tire, turn signals front and rear, grips, levers, exhaust, intake, programmer, ........
I had to work Saturday but did get mine out for an hour ride on Sunday. Was kind've windy but still decent weather.

Yep, the season is here, I already have 500 miles on the bike, which is very little for some but a lot for me!
New front tire huh?? Alot of the m109 riders like the fat front tire look, pic is below. It looks sweet but not sure how it would handle? As for the rest of the list, I would start with exhaust, I love the sound of a V-twin with some good pipes and you usually don't need a programmer until you add an intake.
Later
Yep - that's what I want to do. It's a 160/60 on the front tire. Stock rear is a 240 but if you put a 260 on the rear I've read on the forums that the bike handles amazingly. Even better than the stock setup!
now that's better!
OK so I did the bucket seat / console swap last year. The seats weren't great, but I had planned on getting them re-upholstered. Fast forward to now, found these on CL. They had been there for a couple months, so I decided it was meant to be. These are out of a supercrew. They are so comfortable! Really finishes off the interior.

Well yesterday I upgraded (terrible cell phone pics to follow)
From the 04 Heritage:

To a 2007 FX4 SuperCrew with 78k

I love it so far. Got 2" leveling kit on order and I'm doing an intake mod this afternoon.
Maintainance-wise, I plan in the next few weeks to:
- Change fuel filter (myself)
- Change spark plugs (myself hopefully)
- Transmission fluid change
- Front/rear diff fluid change (myself)
So, does anyone have a set of the spark plug removal tools that I could borrow/rent/buy? How about a good shop to do a transmission fluid exchange with a transmission filter change as well?

I don't have the removal kit but I can say if you go slow with the plugs they should come out fine. When I did mine I broke them 1/8 a turn soaked them like stated, then tightened them back down, then turned it 1/4 turn backed it back 1/8 turn and then 1/4 turn looser and so on until it is out. It takes a long while but I didn't have a single plug break. They creak the whole way out it was very nerve racking.
Congrats on the truck it looks great.

Also guys I don't know if you have herd yet or not but 2004-2006 F150 trucks are being recalled because of a sharp plate that can wear through the airbag wiring causing it to short and deploy the air bag unexpectedly. I will definitely be taking my truck in soon to see if it is one of them affected.

NOTE: Not all trucks in those years apply to this recall - so just call your local dealer and have your VIN handy to find out if yours needs it or not. Or wait for the letter to come in the mail from Ford.
05 - I ran your VIN already and your truck does need this recall done. Call to set up an appointment. Takes about 1 hour to complete this recall.

I will call later today and see when you can get it in. I read about this a while back and was wondering if mine was affected guess I know now.
