First off my "Check Engine" light has been on for about 3 months, it used to come on and go off now it just stays on. Nobody I have talked to seems overly concerned so neither am I (this is a 1998 F150).
Secondly the air conditioner has quit, it still blows air and all but it isn't cold anymore. Is there a way to check the Freon and can Freon be added by me instead of a garage?

Better try an individual post in ENGINES and also an individual post in HVAC. That'll get you MUCH farther.
