Illinois Radar Detector

Does anyone know if Radar Detectors are legal or illegal here in Illinois? I want to put one into my truck, but not enough that it alone would be enough reason for a police officer to pull me over.

They are not illegal to my knowledge. Buy just plan on getting a ticket if you get pulled over for speeding.

I am a police officer. They are not illegal in Illinois unless you are driving a commercial vehicle. However, this quote is very true. No breaks; and I will tell you from experience, if an officer uses his radar correctly, the only thing that radar detector is going to tell you is that you have already been locked in

A CB radio might be a better way to go for the interstate highways. The truckers tend to keep a good eye out for them big bad bears out there. Some day I may take my own advice. Especially useful when traveling through Wisconsin!!!!!!
