Blackwood body mount bushings
Blackwood body mount bushings
Hello. I noticed a creak in my Blackwood so I checked the body mounts and they are horrid. I just squeeze them and chunks come off. Not a spec of rust on the truck but the mounts are disintegrating.
Problem is finding body mounts without out paying the outrageous ford prices.
I have done some research and one place says the chassis on Blackwood is same as the Navigator-but even finding Navigator bushings are a pain.
Another article says the chassis is the same as the 2003 F-150 super crew.
Now if I look up all these parts individually on a site it comes up with a doorman bushing the same part number but for energy suspension parts only the ford f-150 has it available.
Does anyone know what chassis is the same as the Blackwood?
I am leaning towards the ford F-150 energy suspension bushings. Nice price but I hate to get it and have them not be a fit.
Has anyone replaced the Blackwood Body mount bushings?

Looking at the bushings on the Blackwood they are identical to these so I am thinking it will be perfect. Whereas this is all that comes up for a Blackwood http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...rd=body+mounts
and for that the applications are for Ford F-150 2003-99, Ford F-150 Heritage 2004, Ford F-250 1999, Lincoln Blackwood 2003-02
Thanks

well I went ahead and ordered the acrid bushings. After all the research i believe they will work perfectly. Even got engine mounts so everything will be set.
Now just have to find a shop thats fairly priced in labor to install them as my body won't be able to handle the job.

You are correct, the F-150 chassis it's the same as our blackwood's, a couple years ago i was in the market for side steps for my truck, and a seller from Texas (fleabay) would not sell me the damn things because the Blackwood was not listed, so just went ahead and bought them for a super crew, they bolt right in, i think only rear suspension parts are different.

Thank you. That puts my mind at ease. Gotta call a few body shops cause one said it will take around 8 hrs to do it but their labor rate is only 50 an hr where my mechanic rate is 80 an hour. Thought bout doing myself but my body is weary and I live in a complex and no garage so will be a pain.
But thanks for the info.

I'm so happy! I got the switch today for my folding mirrors. Came from a salvage yard being Ford are asses! They Work!!! hehehe I freagin love it. And next monday Ill have the Bushings installed and I can't wait to feel the difference in the ride!

I think mine was the little motherboard electronics cause I tried cleaning it and using electrical grease but the whole right side of the switch controls didnt work.
It was a sight watching the mirrors fold for the first time. Cost 70 freagin bucks but ohwell. lol I have an appointment for next thurs to get bushings installed. The body shop guy was surprised that they are already deteriorated being such a young vehicle but they are. lol

I found a fair labor rate body shop and dropped off truck yesterday. I called and they said they are working on it and probly tomorrow it will be done.
He also said they ahd to take the console and seats out. Now I have researched this and also have the repair manual and it says nothing about taking any of that out. WTF?
I don't understand why any onf that would have to be taken out considering I located the bushings underneath the truck and the rear bolts in the back of the cab.
Has anyone ever replaced their bushings? and is any of that necessary?
Kinda feel like I'm getting screwed now.
UPDATE
Well i have no idea why they took out my seats or console but they didnt charge me anymore than what was originally discussed so thats a good thing. Only cost 400 bucks
Glad I had new bushings installed. two were completely gone and there was nothing between the frame and the truck. It feels great now. Amazing what a little rubber can do!
I would recommend anyone with a Blackwood to check their mounts. The shop couldn't believe the state they were in for being a 2002 and such a well kept truck.
