The silver tape is standard pinstripping tape; although you could get a pinstripper to paint the silver on. I found a touch up paint from a ford escort silver was a perfect match; just happened to have it laying around for some reason, never owned an escort. I considered redoing mine with chrome pinstripping tape, just never got around to it. At least he didn't do what some fool did to one B/W - he painted the body Pearl white!?! I had a kid walk up to me and tell me about it and I thought he was crazy, but a month later on ebay the guy was selling CDs for the service manual and he posted a picture of the abomination in his ad.

There are still some of us just discovering the Lincoln Blackwood. Picked mine up 2 weeks ago with just over 32,000 miles. Garage kept and runs like new. Used it to tow an antique car to a show last weekend and was most impressed.

Now I'm trying to figure out the best way to route a satellite antenna cable into the cab. I'd prefer to place it at the back of the cab roof and bring it in via the brake light opening.

I'm still hanging in there with my Blackwood, but just got a new daily driver last week. I've owned the Blackwood for 8 years and have a whopping 195,000 miles on it. Wow. Mostly due to my work that took me to Chicago and Toronto weekly for the past few years. But I have to sell it as I don't have room for it and could use the money for other things. Any takers? Still runs like a charm.

Little Late in posting to this thread as I just now found the group. I have a Blackwood now and my dream to own one has finally come true. Had to wait until I got one used to be able to afford it, but if you look around long enough (as is proven in above postings).. you can still find one now with low miles on it. In my opinion, Ford/Lincoln was waaay ahead of it's time in 2002 with this little beauty of a truck. Nothing comes close to it. My husband loves to show it off. Never saw anything like it before. Carpeting in the trunk, dutch doors and the self closing cover on the truck bed. Wowiee!
Here's my baby's stats: 2002 with 49,000 miles on her interior is in great shape, no problems whatsoever so far. Navigation system is also in it. She's a "10" to me!

If you Blackwood owners would put some good pics in your albums, you just might be a contestant in the Truck of the Month contest.

129500 and going strong. Daily driver. Tonneau is a problem. Attached light nylon line to emergency release handle in the trunk. lead end under door. looks like I forgot to get everything in the trunk but actually by pulling on it it releases the tonneau. better than crawling under the truck everytime.

new to group

Hi all,

I'm Tony from NM. I just got an '02 Blackwood a week and a half ago. Love it! Wanted one since before Lincoln put them in production and can't believe I actually, finally have one. 72k on it and it looks like new. It's been turning lots of heads in abq.

like most of you saw it when it came out and said one day.. it has 93000 and thank god i bought the extended warranty!!! had it for 3 years now and put 57k miles on it. so far the whole ac system replaced due to ceased compressor, i argued with the service writers at the dealership and got everything replaced because of it/ compressor, condenser, evaporator, dryer, and they threw in a heater core for just the cost of the unit (: . that alone paid for the $2500 warranty. also had a fuel pump and some work on the sunroof done for free!!! as a tech i hate working on my own car so yea if your buying one great car but purchase the warranty is all i can say. oh yea topeka ks

Wow! A Blackwood in Spain!

That must be a sight among all the little 3 and 4 bangers you have over there.

Hi everyone,
Have had my BW for three years now, had 48k now has 84k . This is my work truck/car. I really like it, and have done some mods, 24 inch rims, Kenwood AV/Nav/Headrest video, camera, bluetooth. Magna flo exhaust. I just joined the forum today, looking for a Tonneau fix, mine just went out. Found some good info on this site already....Thanks to all of you who have shared!

Welcome aboard to our somewhat seldom used board. What kind of NAV system did you install, as my OEM NAV system is so outdated, I only use it for the grandkids to amuse themselves with. My Tonneau stopped working for the previous owner at about 10,000 & it was a $800-$900 fix at the dealership back in 2004, so I guess yours lasted a lot longer. I try to use it sparingly when I can, using the back seat folded down for small loads. Make sure you shut the back dutch doors completely tight, or the cover will not close until you do. Enjoy your luxsurious new ride like the rest of us surely do.

Where did you buy your Blackwood? There was one for sale in Dallas with 21K miles on it. Looked new.
