Blackwood Front Rotor Minimum Thickness
Blackwood Front Rotor Minimum Thickness
Took my Blackwood in for other repairs and had them change the oil and everything. Anyways, they said I need new front brake pads. I change the pads myself so I told them I'd do it. I asked if the rotors had enough thickness left on them and the dealership said there is plenty. So I read in my repair manual that the minimum thickness for the front rotors is 27mm. I measured mine at 25.5mm on both sides. So I'm thinking did the dealership not even check out the rotor thickness? So I go out and buy new rotors today from Autozone. I get them home and just for S&G I measure the thickness of these brand new rotors that the store computer said fit my vehicle. They are 26mm. I'm thinking WTF??? Is the rotor thickness in my repair manual wrong, is the part number Autozone has wrong? I read somewhere on this forum that stock F-150 front rotors are 1.25" thick (31.75mm).
Are there any dealer techs out there who could look up the Blackwoood minimum front rotor thickness and tell me what they were stock?
