Tonneau Problem

I just started haveing trouble with my tonneau cover. It will open up just fine but when it opens fully it drops back down, like it won't lock in the open position. I'm assuming that it's on of the motors, but I wanted to see if anyone else have run into this type of problem.

Thanks,

Jason

I think there might be something wrong with the computer, the motors are just window motors so they only move when there is power going to them. try opening the top manually by releasing the switch under the right bedside. Lift the top up and see if it stays up by itself. if it does its not the motors they are strong enough.

The tonneau opens and closes just fine. It just won't stay open, it locks and everything. When it opens all the way up instead of staying open is falls back down. And if I open it manually it will not stay up, like the motors are not holding it open.

It sounds like it might have one or more bad motors. There is a power window type motor on each side of the bed. posibly only ofne motor might be weak and the other can't support the weight. Either way they are not easy to replace. Just like the module. you need to take the side panels off for access.

Went by the dealer. They checked it for free and it turn out that the latches that hold the tonneau up are bad the motors are good. 590.00 to fix. Three days for the parts to come in. Thanks for all your help guys.

I'm glad I found this forum. I love my Blackwood, and it's nice to find some people who share my passion. Is there any place to post pix of our rides here? I don't wanna brag but my baby is pretty trick!
