Question Tranny Thread

Ok, let's keep this civil with no bashing or touting of products. I would like useful info without a lot of BS.

I would like to know about any trends in broken trannies.

POST

Model year:

Mileage:

Chipped or not:

Torque Reduction or not if chipped:

Stock, Line Mod Valve, Shift Kit or VB:

If you were running an aftermarket Torque Convertor:

Just the facts please. No Brands or grandstanding.

2000, 26k, chipped and Level-10 for 22k. No breakage. Having a Monster-Box built to handle future H/P upgrade.

The best insurance for an automatic tranny is keep it cool and change the fluid often. I change mine about every 3rd oil change. Overkill yes, but no problems to date. Last trip to the dyno 423/528. More now and this tranny is holding up fine. The Monster will just be for insurance when the H/P gets big.

the 4r100 is a great tranny,

chipped, factory tech valve body, factory tech torq converter, deep sump pan, torq reduction still there, chip changed duration of shift only.

13.5K miles,,, she outlasted the motor and is still going strong.
