Extrude honed and Ported Upper and TB?

I just had a 2001 upper intake for the Eaton and also a stock throttle body dumped in my lap and I recalled someone was offering the intake extrude honed on an exchange plus some bucks..Anyone point me in the right direction to exchange or have this done?
Thanks, Jeff

I believe the other company is www.extrudehone.com I am not sure how much they are but I think you have to send in your own and the down time is around 2 weeks.

To those that have sent theirs out. Do you gasket port the intake before, after, or not at all?

I did my port matching after. The upper intake porting is a worth while mod. Save your money on porting the stock T/B. Watch the classifieds and pick up a single blade unit.

I wouldn't use Extrudehone, we sent my CXobra's intake to them for porting and they screwed the whole thing up!

First they lost my original, then they broke the replacement which had to be sent back.
Then after 6 months, they finally sent us a ported replacement.
And the price was a bit much too. 1200.00 I think.

If you are sending it out to get extrude honed I wouldn't gasket port the TB to the plenum before hand. Not sure how much material gets removed via the extrude hone process, but I'd be a little concerned about sending in a gasket ported plenum and T/B only to have a little to much material removed and the gasket matching be off.

Then again that may not happen.

We also offer the Extrude-honed plenum & usually have them in stock so you have no down time. Extrude Hone can be fun to deal with sometimes, and slow is indeed spoken there, to be sure. However, we've always had excellent results with nothing lost or broken, etc., and it's certainly a worthwhile mod, if you can get the ported unit up front so you have no down time. Just FYI..........

For details, etc., just give us a quick call at your convenience.

There is a place in Jackson Michigan: http://www.paulshp.com/paulshp.htm That offers the Extrude honed upper plenum for $175 on their web page: "PHP High Flow Upper Intake Manifold - After the throttle body, the next restriction would be the upper intake manifold. We've been able to extrude hone this part to straighten the air flow and increase air speed adding 10-15 horsepower and 20-25 lb/ft torque
Cost: $175 Installation: $120. Go to the lightning section and it is about 3/4 of the way down that page. I think what they are advertising for power is unrealistic. And a local tuner with a chassis dyno (he does mostly Mustangs) said he has tried this equivalent on a '03 Mustang and it helps but not that much. He did not give me numbers. I hope this helps. I have not bought anything from them, so I am not pushing their products or services. I am just trying to be helpful. And they are the only place I recall seeing that service/product. Although I am sure there are others. Darin
