Cheap mod...10hp possible...

I used to do this with the mustang, but have not tried to figure it out on the truck yet....For racing, we would install a shorter belt that would bypass the power steering pump, a/c compressor, and the air pump...It was defenitely worth 10hp and 1mph on the strip. It would probably be even more beneficial on the L because not only are you taking away power robbing accessories, but you are also removing some of the parasitic drag on the engine allowing it to spin faster, allowing the s/c to spool up faster. I just have not figured out the length of the belt required to do this, or how to route it. If anybody else has done this, let me know or when I figure it out, I will pass along the info...

Belt??

C'mon guys...Surely somebody has thought of this already....If not, I'll be going down to the garage shortly to look at it....

Might be a pain. I think you have to take off the lower blower pulley and cage to get the belt off from behind it.
