Nice tries at THE blue...really anticipating seeing one in real life and in person...might have to trade in the "dark one"

Here is a screen dump from the Ford SVT site. I think it is one of those colors that you have to see in person to judge.

The blue they show on the ford sight is not even close. It is defenittley a purple looking color. I went and looked at that color on a stang again yesterday. It has a chitload of purple. If it you order it in that color, go ahead and order your custom plates to say "GRAPEAPE", it will apply...LOL.

Check out the January 2003 issue of Automobile Magazine. On page 103 is a picture of the front half of a blue Lightning that the text says is a 2003 model. It looks somewhat like the Sonic Blue trucks and cars that I have seen. Given the state of color photography, it could also be True Blue.

Unfortunately, there is only one picture and it has 23 inch wheels so I cannot say this is a real 2003. The color is really nice, though.

Why can't Ford issue a few "special editions" like Mazda (one of the family) does with the Miata? Then those of us who would like other colors (like bright yellow) could get them. It would sure add some interest.

Isn't that the purpose of SVT?

Not really. BMW has a program called "BMW Individual" that allows the buyer to customize the car in hundreds of ways to suit their tastes (and their wallets). Special paint, two-tone leathers, suede headliners, bullet-proof armor, you name it, they probably have it. Mercedes and Porsche also offer similar programs.

Superford...

that truck was at FFW in New Hampshire. I think Don took that pic. The truck looked really nice, but it was not even close to Sonic Blue. The picture shows a more bluer tone, but it actually was more PURPLE!!! Just because the sun was beating on it cause it was like 120 degrees out that day, it looked more blue. Just a little FYI, It was a nice looking truck though.
