I burned up the tips of some TR6's at WFC4 with a 2lb lower and a 75 shot, needless to say I didn't make it down the track with my fastest time, HEHEHEHEHE. after that I had to resort to some accel plugs to get her going smooth again and it ended up working out pretty good once I got a little less gap in there with a shot.

Since then I haven't had any problems and I always go less gap and work my way to more gap insted of burning those up again.

Sal remembers that day, HEHEHEHEHEHEHE. Spiro was kinda freaked out too, but luckily I didn't get anything lodged in the valves at all. I did get a misfire code from hell though

I actually went the fastest with the 50 shot with a 12.48 that year. I just wish I didn't burn those up cause I would have garaunteed me a spot in pro lightning and I would have for sure won somthing cause there was only 3 other trucks going fast enough to qualify. And it would figure that my 12.48 run with a 50 shot was on a practice run and not a qualifing run. Damn plugs!

I melted the tips off 2 Splitfires A long time ago...

The tune I was running was based on Race Gas but I wasnt told...
Not sure if the stocker plugs would have melted or not.. I blame it half on the plugs ( splitfire design has inherent weak points ) and half on the lack of octane..

after a valve gasket install on the passenger side..@+-32000 miles. Denso IT-20's. 3# pulley conical intake, chip. Deck was warped...New factory long block. You can search for the saga....
ate the electrodes and some porcelin on the two inside cylinders on the passenger side...could see aggresive pitting around the plug tap on one cylinder.

I had an ngk tr6 with a burned tip about 1.5 years ago on #5.
It did get in a valve, and i did install a new head.

I blame it on myself and not on any tuner as i was running 12's with a chip and pro- m[lean] and decided to race in cool weather without sending my chip back.

Imagine that....someone blaming themselves instead of a tuner
Don't expect it to be a trend.

I melted 3 TR6's just like RT Killa did, at the track. The worse part is, somebody in this world "in a Thundra Pick-Up Truck" (I think thats the right name) thinks he beat a Lightning down the 1/4 mile.
I was off the gas by the 60 ft and just shut the truck down and coasted "and still almost beat him"

Mine was caused from a clogged fuel filter. Now running same chip + program, Denso IT-22's and 1st trip back got me my 12.8 without my 2-3 Upper Pulley on. It's now been 1300 miles since then but I still believe I may have a valve issue. Doesn't effect the Performance at all, but I'd swear I have an un-even sound in the Motor ever since then. But I've ran good at the track since then and even had 2 loooooooooooong WOT runs up to 135+ with no problems and plenty left.

Notice how 12 seconds of Detonation cooked 3 plugs and turned the rest green. Same Chip now and no Detonation with temps in the teens day after day.

i've melted some it-20's no. 5 was the worst almost no porceline left and 2 more i believe 6 and 7. like ib fast stated it was me not a tuner that caused this. i just got my new fuel rails and pump installed and the vaccumm line going to the regulator came off in the middle of a pass (nmra columbus). bought new heads then fried my trans at atco but it should be a fun year next year

I toasted #7, when I was running the TR6's, which I think
we all decided was too "hot" a plug for 4 # of boost. Now
I am on the BR7ef's and they seem better.

Cool

I melted a Champion plug while testing them during last winters weak gas episode.

I melted 2 TR5's this summer when I thought we went too rich on my tune for the longtube exhaust. You better watch what you wish for because you just might get it. Needless to say I went back to the old program and no more trouble.

can someone tell me where all of these broken plug parts go?
do they just spit out the exhaust valve or what?
and how do you get them out?

thanks
