...if anyone else here runs their heater with the engine off while at the track to kool down the engine? i thought of it the other day at the track, and my truck kooled down much faster. also, after sitting for a while it started blowing colder air, so i started it for a second then shut it back off to cool more of the fluid. it worked really well. just put the key in the "on" position without starting the engine.
i thought "hey, im a genius" and i was thinking how many other genius' were out there.

That's an old trick that I learned a long time ago. It can also save you from overheating an eng. if you're caught in a traffic backup. I'd rather be hot and maybe save the eng.
And for all you snow-bound yankees, don't forget to run the air conditioning every week or so to keep the seals lubed
