I heard you need some sort of special tool to get the bottom of the front facia loose on the L. Can I get one at the dealer or maybe use something else that will work.

 

i just used a flat head screwdriver and a soft towel to protect the truck. it took only about 10 mins to get the front off and i didnt hurt thr truck. just be careful, its not that hard...chris

 

I took off the plastic shroud on top, which allowed me to reach down behind the grill with a flathead screwdriver and undo the two clips. It isn't difficult at all.

Edit to add: Anyone trying to sell you a special tool for it must be related to the people who sell the special $50+ tool for removing sparkplugs... when two extensions and two universals, along with duct tape, do a much better job.
