29 degrees and boost
29 degrees and boost
On the way back to work today, I floored it, and for the first time since the truck was put back to stock I looked at the boost gauge. Jebus! It is amazing what 29 degree weather will do for boost. I was making as much boost as I was with the 5lb pulley over the summer, the stock boost gauage was well beyond the 10lb mark! It scared the hell out of me as I dont have a chip or anything else on right now. Worst part is that latley I have been noticing a faint tapping noise coming from the motor. I need to take it in since its under warranty, but this will be the 3rd time in 3 weeks the truck has been in.
i went racing the other night and it was 45* out. the 1st run when i got there was a new best of 13.66. after letting the truck cool down, i was never ale to get the truck to hook off the line. so, i backed up my best run ever with my worst run ever, a 14.8 at 99 mph. truck felt like it had a lot more power and anytim i hit the gas, the tires would just spin.
We do survive here in the North! We even get a kill in from time to time in the winter!
I work for Ford and travel a ways to and from work. Long story short we were rerouted through Flint, MI. there is a Delphi plant there and I was right infront of it and a guy in a I-rock Z28 pulled out of the plant and got next to me! He tillted down his sun glasses and gave me the lets run finger!
Well it was their shift change and he had a few of his buddies behind him. We took of from the light and my *L* spun just a little bit but hooked great!!! Took him from light to light ugly. His buddies were laughing so hard I didn't have the heart to tell him I had 360 lbs. of sand in the back of my truck and snow tires!!!!

As cold as it gets here in FL (Yes I know, 62 aint nothin!), the 35 degree drop in temp makes a HUGE difference in performance. Really bring the ***** outa this truck! I LOVE IT!

TIGHT!!! I have reached 1000!!!!!
Been in the teens many days already here in Long Island NY. I HAVE MAJOR BOOST, "but I'm not touching it in these temp's".
No Detonation either, Hats off to my Tuner for a 12.8 with Minor Mod's and still have it safe enough for NY Winters and 140+ WOT BLASTS I enjoy sooooooooo much.
Toast, any idea of how this is gonna play out yet with the dealer, your motor and your truck ???

Winter Temps
If you brought it back to stock, and nothings wrong with your truck, I wouldn't think a little heavy footing would hurt anything. Since for 1/2 the year the temp here is what you southern boys would consider cold, I do quite abit of cold weather driving. 14K and no engine probs yet (knock on something).
