Finally broke down and gonna do a couple mods.....got a K&N panel filter and will modify the airbox (I know...no big deal) and a Factory tech VB. Got both items from Razors edge and I have to say those guys are awesome.

Gonna put in after x-mas and can"t wait!

what r u waiting for........Put them in now!!!!...If you can afford it, why don't you just put a cold air intake on instead of cutting up your factory airbox....You may want to keep that and any other stock parts you have handy, so you can put the truck back to stock in case it ever has to go in for any type of service or warranty work....Let's hope it doesn't, and good luck and have fun modding....

 

Well...staying with a modded stock airbox because in all honesty, I am not sure I am doing the 4 lb pulley, etc. In talking with Paul at Razors edge, he was honest with me and said the stock airbox with a K&N is actually good up to a 4psi pulley..especially modded. You have to realize that just bolting on a cold air intake without adding other things to take advantage of it will actually cause the truck to lose torque...which I don't want to do. Maybe down the road, hehe! I have been down this road with my 93 Mustang and quite honestly, I love NOT having to work on this one, lol.

I hear ya.....However, I am not new to this game either....I have been racing for some 12-13 years now, 5 mustangs included....And with 450 lb/ft of torque a few lost down low is well worth the hp increase upstairs....With just the intake, chip, and breather, I was running 12.90s @ 106.xxx. However, it is your truck and I wish you lots of luck with it. BTW, I totally agree about not having to work on this one that often....My 90 GT convertible, running 12.50s @ 109.xxx would brake something every other week...LOL...That's what happens when you launch @5000rpm with slicks....LOL

wow...those are good times with just a chip/filter. I m unsure of what I gonna do at this time beyond what I am doing now...but I am hinging on a work beater next fall...if that happens than yes, pulley and the like is gonna happen.

I miss my stang too......I had ported stock heads/cam/intake/ TB/MAF/12psi of S-Trim....full exhaust...etc. Car ran 12.50's at 116 on drag radials!. Never had the guts to do the slicks for fear of breaking my T5 into little pieces, hehe.

I can honestly say that I never twisted or broke any driveshafts or u-joints....Can't say that about any T5's though....Blew 4 of them to pieces.......Not fun....
