Question What should first mods be ?

I was noticing just about everybody has a few mods done to there trucks and was wondering what should be my first mods since I am bone stock right now ? I know one thing my truck will smoke the tires from a dead start now . I would be willing to spend around a $1,000 after the first of the year but I know you guys here have had tested them all so what should it be for a newbie ? A must have ? I want go fast goodies.... By the way anybody know any good tuners and maybe someone to help me with installing mods in S.C. or N.C. area ?

some may agree with me and some may not, but I say to get a drop in k&n and do the air box mod! It will only cost you about 40 dollars at the most and will give you a 1 to 2 pound increase, increase in supercharger whine, and the supercharger will kick in slightyly quicker. Not to mention a possible gas mileage increase.

chip
intake
4# pully
and youll have enough $ left over for a 6 pack

You will never in a million years get better bang for the buck (performance wise) than whats listed.

let me put it to you this way1.5 years ago which is like the year 1987 to the tuners , I ran 12.8s with a chip/2# pully/intake

After that its just how many $,000 you wanna spent per tenth of seconds.........

(1) Hotchkis suspension + QA1's + Ruslow QA1 mounts + So-Cal adjustable rear sway bar links + cam bolts + remove hitch and spare. That's about $1,200, but it's really a package deal.

(2) Factory Tech valve body ($200)
(3) traction bars ($100-450)
(4) panhard bar ($250)

All the tuners can supply you a good chip/tune. Just do your research on what you are after and then spend some time gaining knowledge on the parameters your tune is working under.

Also take the time to talk with your tuner.

A chip on a supercharged engine is not some magic one shot bullet that you can just order up like a Big Mac and expect it to always taste the same.

I plan on getting a dyno...complete with A/F ratios at all RPMS after I get my chip to make sure I am comfortable with the level of risk versus power gain. And then with each and every mod after that I will check it again...matter of fact I will be getting random tests done just to be sure it has not changed due to weather or other uncontrollable factors.

Good Luck...and get real darned educated before you start throwing money at performance mods. There is risk involved....and it ain't Fords risk, it's yours.

Thyat being said.....my list:

Air Mod...4lb pulley(lower)....4 way chip...programs: street, 4lb pulley, 6lb pulley, NOS + 6lb pulley (programs subject to change)

first mod???

The best first mod of all time is
>>>>><<<<<

I just couldn't resist . Actually it depends on what you want to do. Obviously if you are into 1/4 dragging the list of mods will be different than if you are into Road Racing. But if you are going to do any kind of racing even on a semi-regular basis you need to address the tranny. Monster box or at least a Factory Tech Valve body.

This path has been beaten to death and paved. If you know what you want your end results to be there is pretty much garanteed ways to get there. Goodluck.

Email me, I can get anything you want installed by my mechanic. He does it all and we're in Charlotte.
