Tim :
I have the same train of thought... My 1/4 mile times did not improve after it got broke in, according to the numbers I was getting at the track.. But My tires do turn over easier...

Ive had 3 99/00/02. None of mine would spin more than a little bit stock. All of my stock times including my 02 ran 13.8-13.9 I never got any better. With just chip/filter I ran a best of 12.9 on my 00 in PERFECT weather. But in regular weather I ran 12.8s with a 2lb pully.

The best bang for the buck would be chip/intake 4#pully. ANY lightning should run 12.6-7 with that set up.Ive been out of the game for 1.5 years as far as racing goes and when I was running 12.8,it was pretty respectable.when I ran 13.2 in 99 nobody could believe it . Shows ya how far the tuners and aftermarket has come.a 12 second 4800 pound truck is concidered average these days .......
