What is the top speed?
01 XLT Sport, i think that guy is confused. I know the honda s2000 is the top or #1 in the world for something in cars, but its definately not top speed
I remember reading it in C&D or seeing it on speedvision or one of those shows a while back. Its something like they have the most hp per liter, or c.i. or something like that.
Still rather have a L though. LoL

Spike Engeneering,
Sorry to see you vent your jealousy in such a unique way. However, I will admit those kind of tickets are something to be more ashamed of especially when it was a ghost car that got me too.
Anytime you come to Alberta, Canada look me up, You have my address and I' am not afraid to let the world know it, maybe we can have ourselves a race my 03 will be here April 2nd.

I "ran" one of those Honda sports cars in my 01 , and it wasn't even close.
Story goes like this:
(Those of you that drive the NJ Turnpike will appreaciate it)
Going to work one morning at 16W on the western spur, approx 5:30am doing 80/85 in the fast lane. Nobody around, when the Honda comes up behind me flashing his lights to get the fu*k out of his way. Nobody next to me, so he could have done a flyby, but noooooo, He wants to flash. After, 5 or 6 times of flashing the high-beams, he decides to go around. When he got next to my door, I dropped the hammer and made the Eaton sing. Wish I had the Bassani then..... I don't know if he even tried, I mean, he DID want to be in front of me, but all he saw, was dissapearing Lightning tail lights all the way to Newark!

Your best bet with the Honda owner is to ask him to take you for a 265 MPH ride. I doubt he has the scrotal fortitude to get to 100 let alone full top end. You also might wanna ask him how he knew he was near that speed when his speedo probably doesn't read over 160...if that.
C'mon ya'll...
Not to burst your bubble, but take another look at bluelightnings tickets.
He is in Canada, the speed is in Kilometers per hour.
265 KPH (164.6MPH) and 178 KPH (110.6MPH) in a 110KPH (68.3MPH) speed zone.
Speed - Damn impressive
Two tickets in 4-hours - Embarrasing..:o

You may be right about the Cobra numbers. I got them on line from a few web sites like Car & Driver and the numbers they listed. Anyone else that may question the numbers I posted for the cars and Lighting I posted came from web sites I was researching to teach this Honda-*** a lesson in running his mouth.

Nice to see someone I know. Nothing against you other guys, but since I don't own a Lighting, have 14 year old daughter, got most my things taken away by the X just can't afford a Lighting at the moment, so to come here on your guys thread can be depressing (for this non-Lighting owner). However I do love my truck. Harley you are right the Honda S2000 has the most hp per liter (its a 2 liter, 120hp per liter), now the story goes he has put on a blower or charger or something, going to ask to see it because I can't imagen how the hell he could fit one on there under the hood.
4D THNDR:
Not a chance on going for a ride with this guy. If a Lighting or Harley guy offered me a top speed ride, no problem, but ain't going into a "return for depoist" tin can car unless its under 55mph. hell even then your chances for meeting ol' mighty are still high.
You are probabely right about the speedometer not being no 300mph. I bet its like 160mph. Isn't that what the Cobra's and Lightings have? Anyway when he finally brings it into work me and the boys are going to take a look. I have already perpared the boys for the "well the speedometer says 160mph, but you have to look at the tach and once you peg the 160mph figure speed off the tach." Or some BS like that. What I need to do is find a guy with a Cobra since they have a top speed of 175 against his top speed of 150 I'll tell him drive and me and the guy in the Cobra will see what his (Cobra) speedometer says, since it won't max at 160mph, or whatever.

Bursting Bubbles
Not to be a spoilsport, but I would really like to know how a Lightning could manage a speed of >260 kph or ~160 mph no matter what the mods.
My '99 was reasonably fast stock and I did bury the speedo once or twice which was probably 130/140 with the normal chip/filter/exhaust. At that speed, it was becoming a handful and I cannot imagine another 20/30 mph given the aerodynamics of the vehicle.
Not saying it could not happen, but I am truly a bit skeptical.

How much more proof do you need other than a cops radar?. You can be as skeptical as you want. Freedom ford in Edmonton found out call them at 1-800-463-3612 ask for Mark Olesen he is the vice president a very good friend of mine he had the truck for a week this past summer while I drove his 03 T-Bird. Call and ask.

I never knew S2000s came with 2 sets of headlights stock. Wow, truly impressive.
There's probably enough to end world hunger right there..

Stan routinely does alot faster then that open-road racing, he's hoping to step up to the 180mph class soon.

I was not going to step in on this thread but after the one post I thought I should. The Lightnings will go over 160 if the mods are rite and I don't mean just stuff for the motor. In fact if you stay at the higher speeds some of them will hurt the motor[as some have found out].
I am running a stock blower and boost.Chip is custom to me[JDM]I know because I have been there and helping figure out what to do.The truck is lower to the ground and is bump steered plus with the indepent I can get the toe to '0' underpower[which can not be done on a solid axle] The tailgate is up because it creats a smaller low pressure area. The back of the hood is raised to help get air out from under the hood and OVER the truck instead of under it[there is a mod to this hood I am not telling]anything to keep the ft area down helps in speed and stablity. Also anything to help free up frictioal losses helps to.I am sure this is now as clear as mud but they will do it if set up rite.Stan

Thats a Honda S2000 with a blower right? Do you happen to know what his max. HP and torque are as well as top speed with that?
Oh, nice picture of the blower, AWESOME picture of the HOOTERS
