From my understandings the KB makes more H.P at Lower boost levels .So I would think it be just fine for a daily driver unless you crank the boost way up .

Looks to me as if people get around .5 ET off and about 6 more MPH at the same boost levels, changing from a Eaton to a Kenne Bell. The sound is ok, plenty of videos have been posted to show how it sounds. I think its around $3000 for the kit, so the question should be, Is .5 ET reduction & 6 MPH worth $3000 to you?

I am pretty sure that the production KB's have only been out for a couple of weeks now, so .5 and 6 more mph seems pretty dam good to me for the short amount of time that they have been out. I am sure once JL gets more data on what these blowers like, you will see even greater drops in Et and increases in MPH.

Mines on order.

Sal got around .7 off ET and 9 MPH first pass out with his... That was with the EXACT setup he had before. Nothing else had been changed.

Actually, that's not true. I dropped from 11.20 to 10.78, and went from 118, to 127 mph, but that was not JUST with the blower. I also put on a set of the ModMax heads. Everything else was exactly the same. So the Works 112 AND the ModMax heads, netted me that gain. Still impressive to say the least, and I was quite happy, especially since it was the first Gen 2 10 second pass, and nobody else was able to break that mark for almost 6 months. I did not do any testing with JUST the blower, or JUST the heads, but I would estimate that the heads and the blower helped just about equally with that power increase. However, this past fall, I ran 130 mph with stock Eaton and then a few weeks later I ran 132 mph with the Works 112 and LESS nitrous, so obviously the Works 112 is an improvement over the Eaton. The Works 112 won't compare to a larger screwcharger, so there's no reason to strike up another W112 vs KB debate, I was just elaborating on ICULKONs post.

Assuming this .5 number is correct, To say that you are spending $3000 for a half a second reduction in ET is only true if you stay at stock boost levels. the blower is capable of much more, no?

and as for this:

when in reality it was THIS:

i'm not attacking here, but I have recently noticed a rediculous amount of PSP trumpeteering (ok so maybe I just made that word up) on your part. There is nothing wrong with tuner loyalty or pride, but at least try to use accurate numbers when you quote them as gospel. I'm sure that everyone including Sal would appreciate it.

BTW, i'm not "anti PSP" or "anti ICULOKN" or "anti WORKS". I'm just "pro factual info"

later,
chris

Right, you'd be getting that kind of gain at Eaton-like boost levels, but you'd have another 10 lbs or so on top of that at your disposal with the screw.

The difference between the Eaton and the KB cannot be understood until you feel it. The Eaton gives out by the 1000 ft and kind of maintains the power...the KB pulls harder and harder the whole way down the truck. The difference between my truck before the KB and after is much more noticable than stock to all of my upgrades...if that makes sense.

man, these new SC sound great, but what about the internals? With all that extra hp, don't the rods need to be changed too? I remember when JM was initially testing getting into the 11's he busted a rod and blew an engine. If we go with these superior blowers, won't that put so much stress on the rods that we should also change the rods too? My second questions is what about traction. Right now, whenever I floor it below 35 mph, I just spin on the f1s. Can this extra horsepower be utilized on the street? It certainly is tempting, just wondering. Thanks, Jeff

Didn't Don have one of those on his truck? He sure dropped .7 off ET. Yeah, in his dreams.
