Unhappy L would NOT start this morning!!

Got in, turned it over, and over, and over.................
Seemed like it was out of gas, or something, maybe it's the fuel filter??
Pumped the pedel a couple of times, WOT turned it over again and BOOM - it started.
Haven't had a problem the rest of the day, but we'll see in the monring if it repeats.

How many miles are on your fuel filter?

I changed my fuel filter at around 15k, and this happened before and after that.

I've had the starting problem right after WOT, but sitting all night and having starting problems may have something to do with the contacts between the PCM and the chip.

I had this exact same problem about 2500 miles ago but the problem just went away.

Here is the thread I started when I was having problems.

Possibly

I read somewhere after hard driving you splash oil up on a sensor located on the drivers side head I think it is a 1/4 bolt this has something to do with starting the motor .
I know if you take it out and clean it off it is supposed to help with hard starts after a hard run I hope Sal chimes in he know the part I am talking about . here is no mistaking the sensor either it is the only thing on the drivers side head little bolt
hope this helps
Maybe someone will chime in with the exact part name

Slick

It was posted about the hard starts and cleaning a cam sensor or something - but it was after letting the truck sit for only a few minutes or more, not overnight.

My lightning does the same thing SOMETIMES... havent had the chance to try cleaning that cam bolt or whatever... As soon as I find the link, I'll post it.... Stuck at work on a Holiday for the rest of the company - us lowly contractors dont get the day off

chip contacts

not for nothing but has anyone ever removed their computer and chip and took a q-tip and some alcohol and rubbed it on the the contacts???? They seem to build up a film of dust or somthing on them. Everytime i have my chip reburned i did it and every time it was yuk!!! Not that this might have anything to do with your problem but it just came to mind. Good luck!

If your eng. is hard to start when 'cold'(and your battery is OK--it spun rapidly?) then first, fuel may not be reaching the f/injs, second-defective(or worn) spark plugs, third-defective eng. temp sensor, and fourth-- f/injection malfunction or eng. control systems malfunction.

With 15k, I would suspect the fuel filter--and it's easy to change--and should be--now.
