problem with bassani cats

I bought a used bassani exhaust system. When i gOt it, i started to put it on and noticed a rattle. The converter is broke inside and the material is falling out on the ground. the other one is completely stripped of its insides. first thing i am thinking is guy gutted these and i am stuck with them. i called him and he said he didnt know they were like that. so he calls bassani and they tell him that they havent heard of a problem with them before but would have someone call him. My question is anyone else had these problems? And if so did they do anything about it. also who makes the converters for bassani? Any info will be appreciated
Jason

The old style Bassani cats are a known problem. They seem to have stepped up and replace the bad ones as the come up. They have supposedly changed cat manufacturers and resolved the problem. I sure hope so because I have a new set sitting here now waiting for me to install on Friday.
