Anyone use a Factory Tech VB in snow....

Ok, I am getting ready to get my factory tech VB but living in the chicago area, I was wondering what affect the harder part throttle shifting will have on snowy roads, etc. Anyone live through a winter with one? Is the part throttle shifting nothing to worry about.

you won't even worry about it in the snow. but I would buy some snow tires cause F1's are complete garbage in the snow.

I've been driving cars for many years now. How do you bypass 1st gear with an automatic tranny? Is that a new chip function some tuners are promoting this year?

Well on my Ranger and my L if you just put the shift lever in "2" even from a dead stop the truck will take off in 2nd gear........no matter how much throttle you give it. Go give her a shot easter

Well not an idiot but you dudes from down south (or halfway down in your case) prolly never have to worry about driving in bad snow storms.

That's not entirely true... it snows at least once every other year here in GA! And when it does, everything shuts down! And there will be accidents everywhere you look.

Thanks RTKILLA,

yeah, I already have a set of 17" F150 wheels with the 31" goddyears on my L. I got the whole set with 10K miles on the tires for 200 bucks! Best part is the mileage is recording less than actual because of the change in final drive ratio, hehe. Ok, sounds like a VB is coming soon!

Well, it sounds obvious but...

Believe it or not, it's actually quite common on automatics that when you put it in Manual 2, it starts in first, goes to second like normal, and stays in second afterwards, but on a 4R100 if you put it in 2 , it starts and stays in second gear. I'm pretty sure a few GM and all chrysler autos do ti the other way. No Ford that I know of does, but some could, I really only know the 4R100.

The 200R in my Buick will always start in 1st and only shift up to the selected gear. You can shift down to any gear and it will stay there until the selector is moved but it will always start in 1st....unless you put in on the "R".
