Shot a rod through my oil pan....

My father is the GM of a local Ford dealer here in the D/FW metroplex. Ever since Bill Ford's 'inception' of CEO of Ford earlier this year, warranty claims simply are not being pushed through with ease. It's obvious Ford is losing millions, and the forecast does not look to improve anytime in the very near future.
Instead of flaming, please take a moment and look at it from another angle. If, for example, as a business owner, you were to sell a part to an individual and that part is returned for exchange/warranty/repair and 'claimed' defective, would you accept it full faith and credit without at least an explanation?Maybe so (and that would be GREAT customer service ), but it's just not the case with Ford anymore. Claims that which service advisors would turn a blind eye are now coming under extreme scrutiny in order to save money. Ford has now become incredulous to SVT claims.
The dealer gets paid regardless of whether it's a warranty claim or a customer pay. My point is that Ford is trying to cut costs in any way possible and that often means the denial of a 'questionable' warranty claim.
Either way, if you can pull off the claim, then more power to you. And give me the name for when mine goes....

If you wanna play, you gotta pay. I don't understand why you would try to stick Ford with the repair bill when it was YOU, not Ford, that blew it up. Ah well....
Good luck with it.

I get it now.........Lets see.........Do I worry about getting my engine fixed under warranty or do I worry about the plant I work for getting closed and moved to Mexico......hmmmmm, tough one
So instead of building a better product, which will need less warranty claims, they'll deny the claims hoping the customer will eat the cost and spend more money. That sounds like a great idea if you look at it from Fords perspective.
I would DEFINITELY try to get my truck covered under warranty! No matter if its my fault or not.

Better product?
Have we had anyone bust a rob with an honest stock Lightning? Not that I know of.
Ford has designed their product perfectly. Part of good engineering is designing a product "just right" for it's application. Ford could include Manley rods in every engine they produce "just in case" but I have a feeling it wouldn't help their "real" warranty claims.
You gotta pay to play. Period.
If you get a cool dealership, they'll work with you. My dealership takes my truck in fully modded. If there's a problem, they talk to me and we descide if they problem is the fault of my mods. If it is, I pay, if not Ford pays. That's how it should be.

I'm curious as to what engine plant you work for?
