Question Autotap or EASE?

So, I need to tell my gf what I want for x-mas, and I definitely want an OBD2 data logger for the L. My question is, which is better for our application, the Autotap, or the EASE? I know a lot of people here use the Autotap, but I have also seen Sal recommend the EASE unit before. Is there anything that you can do with one that you can't do with the other? Is the software of equal quality for both units?

Thanks,
-NGK

I have no experience with the Autotap.

But I have the EASE software. Personally I like it. It's little hard to get used to and not the most "user friendly" program. But it's got some really good feature and can monitor alot. There people are very polite and helpful.

Since both EASE and Autotap have extended ford parameters I'd guess they both monitor most of the same things, if not all.

Do a search on EASE and Autotap for more info on both of them. I believe the price difference b/n the 2 is around $60.

Thumbs up

I have the EASE too. It takes a few days to get it all dialed in, as I'm not the most computer saavy individual. Once you get it figured out, it's very easy to use.

I especially like the record mode. You can use it for data logging.

If there is a downside, it would be the laptop itself. You have to lug it everywhere you go. Also, plan on using an inverter for powering the laptop in your truck.

I have the autotap system, it couldn't be easier to use but the data logging seems a little slow. I've never used anything else so maybe it runs at the normal speed I don't know; it just seems slow to me.
