Maintenance Cleaning on the Seats

ok, i've done some searchs and can't find what im looking for. i know when you get an ink spot or something on the interior i just take alittle water and rub and it comes up, or for tougher stains you can use brake cleaner, tuff stuff, etc etc. but what about just general cleaning? i know i could probably steam clean them... but is there an easier way? i usually vacumm them up at the car wash when i go.... (thats safe to do right?) and that makes them look pretty good. but what other stuff should i do to maintain them?

You can try misting them with plain water before vacuuming. That's what we did when I worked at the car wash. It tends to pull more dirt & works excellent w/hair (pet or otherwise).

thats a good idea, i like that one. does that also work on like the explorer sport seats, cause my GF has a Pug and the hair sticks to the seat from her sweater.... and it is tough as crap to get the hair off the seats....

Thumbs up

It worked on all the seats I clean the 3 years I worked there. Glad I could help. You might also want to watch out for the vacuums at the car wash, sometimes they have crap on them & will add more dirt than they pick up. I always have them wipe them off good before they clean my truck. I only go to the place where I worked so they know that I will check every knock & cranny after they're done. I'm like the surprise inspector there, they never know when I'm going to show up since I have a yearly pass.

One would think that those little dogs wouldn't shed all that much, however I was never more wrong. Now after having one, the only way to pull the hair out of things is with one of those lint rollers.

They have them everywhere, and they are cheap now. It is basically a large roll of tap on a stick that you can peal off one layer at a time. They are like magic, and you it takes hair out instantly from the truck seats, furniture and clothes. They also a good job on that final detail touch after vacuuming your seats and carpet.

I like Katy's idea, too!

I usually vacuum them, spray them with blue corral cleaner, scrub them up, then vacuum again. Look and smell good.

Just becareful on the black parts.
