is there a diff. with boost bypass kit and unplugging the boost bypass cable?

is there a diff. with boost bypass kit and unplugging the boost bypass cable?

becuase i have just unplugged my boost wire... thats ok right, or is there a difference with the 2....

And another big difference: the computer may throw trouble codes if the wire is unplugged.

Do a search and scan the responses to this question, which has been asked many, many times. Lots of interesting opinions on what seems to be a simple subject.

One advantage to the pull-the-wire method is that you can just plug the wire back in. I do not advise permanently defeating either the boost dump or the torque reduction. Ford would not have put those safeguards in without a reason.

That or go to your parts retailer and do it for three dollars. I did that which by the way I found the instructions on Chucks Lightning Page. I think it is worth $3, because I tried it the other way. peace

unplugging throws a soft code which does set your "check engine light" or anything...and you can get rid of it by disconnecting the batt.....
