i know i have the same problem alot of you have with traction on the street.i have none till about half way through secong gear!ive read the past post and the nitto 555r seems to be the tire of choise to prevent this.i dont care about milage,wet traction,or drag strip times.i just want at least second gear and maybe a little first gear with out spinning.will these or another tire do the job?

 

those or any other drag radial...but some people say the bfg drag radials dont hook so well...nitto drag radial are the way to go if you want to have a DOT tire, or you could do MT ET streets, those will hook better than a typical drag radial and are more slick type, but youll need to get a new set of rear rims to fit them on (i think they only pretty much come in 16 the largest, not sure though ive never really delt withem), or you could go all out and get hoosier slicks, but theyre not road legal (but who says you cant drive it around anyways?)

My nitto 555R's spin thru 3rd when the temps aren't above 60-65. Must be all that power I am putting out. I think the F1's are better in the cold they don't get as hard in the cold. The nittos have given me quite a few scares around turns on cold nights and I wasn't pushing very hard. Just my thoughts. Goodluck with whatever you get.
P.S. I get 1.7X 60's at the track though. -Mat-
