who does engraving?
Dont take it to a trophy shop!
lots of things you need to know, what kind of alum it is , some alum engrave like chit, if it is a good alum like 6061 it will engrave nice. the surface needs to be fairly flat but more important is what the back looks like. if the back is not flat then the engraving then the part will move up and down slightly when being engraved resulting in the letter edges being choppy. a jig could be made to support the back but you are looking at time and time is money. i have cnc type engraver but prefer to run stuff like this (not perfectly flat) the old way with a manual panagraph engraver and a patern. i run the patern on the computer engraver then use the manual machine. chemical etching might also be an option.

Our company can do that, and very well.
