I did not say you should "encourage" anything. This post was asking for information about a particular truck and the modifications that that person did. A member of this board knew who owned the truck and suggested to the person asking that he might find an answer quicker by posting his question on another board. I don't understand how you determine that this is encouraging slander, libel and defamation.

I agree that you have the right to edit information posted here that does not follow your Terms but I do not see how suggesting to someone that they post their question on another Lightning board is in violation? They did not post a link to a message on another board that contained any information against you personally or this board.

You and Steve refer to the Terms of Service as you decide what to censor but I cannot see where a violation has occured. Perhaps your comment "Wake up - Like it or NOT this is Steve's house... It is his call what is appropriate and what isnt... " should be added to the Terms of Service as this is the deciding factor in all posts you and/or Steve decide to censor.

I also find it interesting that you refer to me as a "mindless soldier from Florida". You do not even know me yet you lump me into a category. Have I ever posted a derogatory comment about you, Steve or this board on another message board? I find this comment to be a direct violation of the Terms of Service as it is inaccurate, defamatory and abusive.

I think Onelfastlride was just tying to help someone out but if that means finding information on a site other than this I guess it is not allowed.

PS - I do not have an issue with the thread being closed based on the last post which was inappropriate.

If you read the terms of service it says content can be changed- deleted for any reason or NO reason.

If you were in Steve's shoes what would you do ? People are on here all the time posting links to other sites to drive traffic there. So it costs Steve money to promote the other site. If you were Steve (or Me ) knowing that that picture and other similar content fills that board would you sit idly by and let that continue ?

We dont allow links or images to **** or to hate sites or to any number of other types of material we find objectionable. They have successfully added their site to that list...

I dont go to that board so I have no idea who posts what. But I wont let people continue to throw it in my face.

I find it ironic that in April Rick - Webmaster over there knew my email address well enough to ask advice in getting his VB forum up and running. ( the same forum now being used to slander me )
But in the six months siince neither he NOR any of his partneres in crime could find my email address to ask why they got banned or what they could do about it...

I do appreciate your mature and thoughtful reply. Glad to see that not all of Florida has been corrupted.

I have to say I just don't get it. If I was unhappy here I would just leave. There are plenty of places to go or as others have done, create my own site.
What would drive someone to make a sign?
What is here that they want so bad?
Is the God almighty dollar at the root of this somewhere?
Life is too short for this BS.

 

Thanks for the clarification. When I read the TOS I see that there are reasons why posts can be edited and/or deleted. I assumed it takes a violation of these reasons to have that action taken but from your clarification I see that you and/or Steve can just decide at will. I don't agree with that but as you said... it is your board and you can do as you desire.

As far as people posting links to other sites... I am not sure I buy into your argument that they are doing it to drive people to those sites. Most that I see posting links are doing it to answer someone's question. If another board had a long thread about the pros and cons of a certain modification and someone here asks a similar question why not refer them to the other site? I find it very helpful to me when they do. People on NLOC, F150World, SVTPerformance and your favorite F L A S V T do it all the time and people seem to find it very helpful.

Someone asked a question, I answered it. He could have taken that information and done what he wished with it . That would have been the end of it. Instead it turns into a big deal.

It's ashame, all this BS. I thought the intent of these boards were for sharing of information. The fact is you, yourselves are sinking down to their level and playing the same stupid games. There is something said to remaining above it.
