Found a new place to praise and pan suppliers, vendors, dealers, etc. Maybe the complainers can vent over there.

Good idea? bad idea?

I don't think it's such a great idea to have a site just for bitching or praising. If I have a good experience with a tuner, I'm posting it where people are gonna see it without having to go look for it. This helps tuners get business from the people who read the posts that document their positive qualities. The same goes for unreasonable problems I may have with a vendor or tuner. The whole point is, to have the info in an area where it will be seen by the most people. This not only gives people an idea of what to expect when doing business with a vendor, whether it's good or bad; but, it also gives the vendors an added incentive to take better care of their responsibilities to their customers. They rely pretty heavily on the reputation they have on the boards for new patronage. That is why they get so upset about people making negative posts about them, before they have made an effort to resolve it in another way first.
People should ask themselves,"Have I tried every other way of resolving the issue?", before posting something negative about a vendor or his business. If not, then hold off until you have. I'd like for the tuners we currently have to be around for a while. Ruining their reputations, because you don't have the part you ordered a few days ago, is just stupid and inconsiderate. Where would we get quality parts, from guys that really know our vehicles, if we run them all out of business; or, make them move on to a different vehicle to specialize in. Many here have waited for more than a month for a part without public complaint. I have, on several occasions, myself. Understanding why I was waiting made it easier. If you are being being lied to by the vendor that has your money and your part for an extended period of time; well, that vendor deserves what he gets. Maybe then he'll try and straighten up his act. I've had two bad experiences with a certain tuner. The first time I spent a lot of time being lied to, and then rude treatment on top of the lies. I finally, after about 7 weeks, got everything straightened out. I never said a word about it here. The second time however, I worked with them for about a month with no results. I made a few negative posts, and everything was fixed within a few days. Some people just won't do what is right until you light a fire under their backsides. That's why, if I have another problem, I can't resolve reasonably, with this vendor again, I'll be even quicker to resort to the boards. It seems to be the only leverage that makes any difference to them. The pride resulting from a job well done is a foreign concept to them. Atleast, that's the way it has seemed to me anyway.

I usually dont chime in on these things but I am parting with my truck shortly and felt it was necessary. So I registered and posted over there but am not doing it here.
FWIW, whineing and complaining one these boards is so childish and really kills the atmosphere here. This board has by far the most class out of any and I am apreciatve. It has been a great resource to many!!

Why go someplace else just to pay a tuner a compliment on a job well done? It doesn't make a whole lot of sense. The same goes for when there is a problem with a vendor, or a vendor's product, that others could benefit from knowing about. Why post where no one will see it. What's the point?
