Only illegal if you get caught............and I for one want to be there for the excuse.

"Why hello officer, why yes that is a radar jammer, how astute of you."

"Illegal? You mean they are illegal? But I bought it at Pep Boys just the other day, and you know Manny Moe and Jack would not steer me wrong."

"Jail? No I'd rather not go there sir, perhaps we can work this out." Can I introduce you to my friend, Andrew Jackson? His face is on this bill."

"Ouch, hey that baton stings, can we just settle for a little pistol-whipping instead?"

only passive jammers are legal i believe, and those dont work worth a ***** (ie phazer), according to an fcc law passed in i believe 97, it is illegal to emit any radar frequency that interferes with police speed trapping equipment

That blows. Figures, they can aim radiation directly at you legally, and you can't even have fun with the signal. Lets no forget that RADAR can make you shoot blanks.

I want one of those things that just shuts down all electronics. How cool would that be?

Wasn't that the detinator for a nuclear bomb? hmm, I bet that the radar gun would stop with that bad boy. 30 seconds of radar freedom

As a side note, the inventor of radar got a ticket right after it was released for police use. Realizing his mistake, he went on to invent the radar detector. Ironic isn't it.

It is illegal to use the radar 'jamming' devices due to FCC regulations regarding playing with radio waves. Laser 'jammers' on the other hand are effective and legal.

You serious about radar making a guy shoot blanks? I can't tell you how many hours I sat in my patrol car as a rookie with that damn K-Band "gun" resting on my crotch.............Come to think of it, isn't that the way Spiderman got his powers, from an irradiated spider bite? Hhmmm.................
