Thumbs up Check out this Aluminum Jack

ITSOEZ stopped by last night. He was down from Arkansas to pick up a truck from his in-laws. He hauled a trailor behind his silver 02 L.

He showed me his aluminum jack. Here it is:

And I bought a HEAVY, steel one from Sears several months ago .

I have that jack. It's decent, but not as good as the actual $600 ones. It's a good jack for the track, nice and light. Mine needed to be seriously air bled, but after that, it's got nice motion. The only thing I want people to know, is be VERY carefull with the jacking pad. It is also aluminum, and I've had three of the four ears on it break off. I'll probably just swap the cast one from my POS Craftsman over to it. Other than, it's worth $200.

Have it, use it on the Miata for SCCA events. Not really heavy enough for the truck with its 3000 pound weight limit, so I have a good 3 ton floor jack for the big beast.

The aluminum one is pretty awesome, and featherweight compared to a normal steel one. Highly recommend it for normal cars... but I'd go for at least a 2 or 3 ton steel one for your truck.

It lifts the truck fine, it's a 2 1/2 ton jack. Just be aware of the jacking pad like I mentioned. I use mine all the time now, because my POS Craftsman doesn't have enough throw in the handle to move the jack when under the truck.

quote"This high performance aluminum racing jack has a "Rapid Pump" feature which lifts 3000 lbs. to a maximum height of 17.5'' in only 6 pumps and requires only 1/2 turn to release for lightning fast pit stops"

2.5 tons is 5000 lbs... I'll take your word though Sal that it will work. Thanks

Oops, my bad on the weight. It's a 3000lb jack, I guess that's 1 1/2 tons, not 2 1/2 . But you're not lifting the entire truck off the ground, you're only lifting about half the weight really and any one point. I don't really suggest this jack for your garage, but it's great for taking to the track.

I have used an aluminum Jack for three years. It is especially nice when changing tires in the Dirt, gravel, or Mud. No more sore back or hitting the bottom of the rear bumper.
