fog lights

I drive a 02 lightning that i bought in Jan. I just turned 4400 miles on it and the drivers side light got a crack in it.So i took it to the dealer for them to replace, the tech took his finger nail and checked for a chip,no chip so they said they would cover under warranty. It came in and was totaly dif. from the other one so they had to replace both of them.A whole new design, looks cool though.

Spectacular, you are, indeed, the man. :-D

I'll take a look at this stuff tomorrow, and post my results! If all goes well, I'll join aquaman's exclusive group soon, and I'm not talking about the Justice League.

Yeah, I had both mine replaced. Like you said, removed the reflector shield and now just strait exposed bulb. Had them for a few thousand miles now and exposed to cold and hot water over and over with no cracking. Think ford finally figured it out.

So the bulb and reflector are exposed to rain, dirt, rocks, bugs etc all the time? sorry just trying to get a picture in my head of what these look like.

ITSOEZ came by yesterday while he was visiting his in-laws. Looking over my 01 L, he pointed and said "you could keep a gold fish in that left one". Cracked bad and 1/2 full of water.

LOL

I had heard that Ford decided to use glass in the new ones as well. Is this true or are they still plastic?

TYT,

No, there is a glass piece on the front, but no reflector in front of the bulb. Like the one on the headlights that says SVT. Just straight lights towards the front.

Both my fogs were replaced as well with the newer style.. look cooler and much brighter, espically with the silverstars in them..

Anyway, think the same would be true, if the reflector was removed from the headlights?
