Please help identify mystery hoses

The two hoses with the "?" go back to the engine and go in right underneath the oil filter.

I'm stumped. Obviously they are hooked into the engine cooling system, but what and why?

Those are the oil cooler heat exchanger hoses. The engine oil is cooled by the trucks cooling system.

If it's a heat exchanger, would the engine heat also be used to raise the oil temp after start up?
