FT Valvebody

Factory_Tech,

Does the installation of your valve body void the warrenty? Does it help protect the trans from harm with mods? So far I've kept my mods to those I can remove easily if I need warrenty work. My truck only has 3K miles. Should I wait until the warrenty expires? I read a post somewhere where you said even mild mods can fry the trans. I plan on doing a pulley, dyno tuned chip, your valvebody and high flow cats when the warrenty is out. What is your recommendation. Thanks.

i've not heard of the FT v-body being harmful to your tranny at all. imo, it should be one of the first things to go on before any real mods (chip/pulley)

warranty depends on your dealership.....

the dealer would have one hell of a time trying to figure out if it was a FT valve body. He uses all ford parts so they would never know.

But I'm sure if they did find out, ford could void the warrenty. Its ford, they void your warrenty for anything.

yep the only thing i could think of that would tip them off is the deep sump tranny pan (if you decide to get it w/ the vbody...i recommend it...)

but other than that the v-body itself is pretty hard to spot..until they drive it

In theory I think if you change the radio ***** they can try to void your warranty, but to date no one has had a warranty voided by one of my valve bodies. Like everyone said, you'd about need to be a factory warranty analyst to know what to look for, (fortunately I know all of them and they've never seen one come back with my valve body) and the valve body is actually better for the tranny, it keeps temps down, reduces friction plate wear and isn't tuned harsh enough to stress the rest of the drivetrain. I think even if they tried they'd have a hard time trying to prove it caused any damage, and at least a few of the Powertrain engineers at Ford are running them that I know of.

After feeling the hard shifts my chip is creating, I really want this as well, I can see my tranny not lasting long as it is. How long is the install? I've rebuilt valve bodies on TH350/400 GM trannies, I would imagine pulling it and installing the old one wouldn't take to long if you are concerned about warranty work.

Well if you already have a drainable trans pan it takes all of 30 minutes to change. If not then figure 45 (clean up time).
