Question Cruise control and highly modded lightnings??

I was wondering if this is normal or not with a highly modded Lightning.

When I use my cruise control, and hit the accel button on the steering wheel it accelerates like 5 mph fairly hard every time I hit the button. If you set it at any speed it will drive normal and hold that speed, but when you hit the acc button it just takes off.

It must be that I have so much more power, and the chip I am using right now does not account for that when I am using the cruise control. I am not using my normal chip right now, so I wonder if it is just this chip or is this a common thing.

We may have to talk to our tuners and ask them about it.

Stock they do that. If you set the cruise control, then immediately let off of the gas it will delay about 3 MPH, then it floors itself to get to that setting.

I just go the speed that I want, hit cruise, stay at that speed for 5 secs or so before letting off.

I think that's caused mostly by the single blade TB. When you hit the accel button, the servo motor pulls on the TB blade and opens it more. With the big single blade TBs, you've got more CFM per throttle angle now, so it's more of an aggressive change.

Don,

Maybe you could be the First to get into the 11s with your feet up on the Dash!

Yea, I noticed that too while on the way to Carolina Dragway last weekend. I don't think it jumped "5 mph" but it definitely surged.

Might actually work. The first pass you make, as you go through the lights hit the set button and then the brake. Next time around (if you don't stop the motor) take off as usual and then right past the 60ft mark hit the resume. It should give it all it has until the end. Just don't forget to brake at the end of the strip, might be hard to hit the pedal with your feet on the dash.
