ok, i know someone posted this happening before, but i had to tell you what a nitwit I am. Smelling gas on the way home today, found the sending unit on the fuel rail leaking. So i took it off to reseal it. Put it all back. In order to get to this, i removed the pvc tube going to the intake plenum. Guess what i forgot to put back?????? Yup!! tried for like 45 minutes, truck would fire off and die. I thought maybe the fuel rail was airbound. I was soooooo mad it wasn't even funny. In the meantime i noticed the wire loom for the sending unit guages fell onto the tube going up to the intake from the exhaust.....and melted. So in tracing the loom to make sure it was ok, there the tube was.....right in front so it looked like it was connected. Boy was I heated!!!! Just thought you guys would get a kick out of this. By the way guages still not completed. Still have to hook up the power leads then i'm done.
