Big Wheel Problem
Hey guys, I got one for ya. Ive got a 2000 L, and the stock original F1 finaly died, on the rim, on the truck. I followed all the instructions for removing the rim: taking off lug nuts, jacking truck up...but I cannot, for the life of me, remove the wheel from the truck. Am I forgetting something? Is there some super secret clip? Should I apply heat? Ive tried WD40 and other anti-seize lubes, nothing is working. This really sucks, cuz Its in a parking lot and I dont want it to get towed.
Any wisdom would be greatly aprreciated.

it's probably just seized onto the hub.
try hitting the tire with the palm of your hand (HARD) alternating from one side of the tire to the other. you know like BANG BANG BANG BANG or LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT. follow me? not trying to be funny here, its just sortof hard to describe how to hit the tire
also if this doesn't work, you can get a rubber hammer and hit the back of the rim around the lip.
good luck.

I know nothing of this special adapter. The nuts are off. I think it is siezed. I was even beating it with the full size spare. The tire is completly flat, so punching it wouldnt to much good, but I know what you mean by alternating left and right. Im gonna go beat on it some, its good for getting out my agressions.
thanks again.

Just plane and simple: kick it. The the heel of your foot on the top part of the rim with a quick hard shock, it'll come loose. Though do make sure the truck wont fall of the jack or jackstands when you do kick it.
Put the lugs back on leaving it a couple of threads loose. Then drive the truck forward about 10 or 15 feet then back. Jack it back up remove the lugs, and the wheel will fall right off. Then put some bearing grease on the hub so it doesn't happen again.

What DarrylChicago said...when these things freeze up, it takes a lot of weight to break them loose sometimes. If it still doesn't work, back VERY gently into one of the concrete curbs at an angle. Don't leave the lugs too loose or you'll risk flattening the threads.

True, True. I'm used to working on a lift, so for me to kick it I'd be doing some Bruce Lee type moves. I'm not that flexible
kicking like this should work fine too.
