Question Supercharger Squeek noise!

I've noticed after about 6,000 miles with the 6# pulley on i now have a sort of a sqeek noise comming from the engine bay but i have yet to find out exactly where it is comming from, it sounds like a rotation squeek comming from the supercharger but i think that sounds kinda strange considering my engine is only bout 15,000 miles old. I've heard of the rotors of the supercharger being worn and blower cavitation but what are signs of wearing bearings or rotors on the s/c. And does anyone notice this, is it normal?

One of my friends had a rattleing/squeaking noise. Thought it was an idler but it turned out that his lower pulley was loose.

Had the same thing when I put on my 4# pulley. I switched to the Goodyear Gatorback belt and the noise is gone.

I think what you have is the idler pulley squeak.

if it only happens when you get on it then its the belt slipping, but if its a constant squeak I would take my chances on the idler pulley.

Paul from razors edge made a nice post on how to get ride of that noise over on NLOC. that would be my first thing to do.

The super charger doesn't make a squeek noise when it has an internal problem. It will make a terrible whinning or rattling noise and you will think the engine is going to blow. It is a very scary sound, but it is not a squeek. The s/c is pretty simple inside. Basically, rotors and bearings turning at high speed. ..not much else. Good luck.
