One of my buddies has a 99 trans-am with ram air its the ls1 motor.what r my chances in beating him if we raced. i have a 99 lightning with 4pounder,full bassani xhaust,90mmm maf,jl ram air,diablo chip,ngk tr6's.he doesnt have alot done he has a 3500 stall,ram air, and underdrive pulleys,plus he is running et streets it is a automatic also .what do you think the outcome will be.

 

will be close if he has the stall and the tires to hook. it will depend on your launch. are you gonna run him on F1s??? is seems like your truck is pretty well modded, you should be able to take him on et streets and a good launch.

 

I have a buddy with a 2001 LS1 TA with a Venom 100 shot,we run identical times,i dont think you will have a problem with this guy unless he is lying!!our trucks are almost identical!!

 

yeah im runnin on f-1's.His times are really good tho actually i think he ran a 7.94 so i dunno i really wanna beat him cause all my friends are doubting me but oh well it would be great beating him tho

 

race him, then if you lose tell him to meet at home depot for a lumber hauling contest

 

I've never had a problem with an auto T/A, from day one. As a matter of fact, a week after I got my truck, I took a guy I worked with, in his '00 WS6 6-speed. He was a ****-poor driver, though.

Seriously, like everyone else said, you should beat him easily, unless he's lying about the mods. And, honestly - With a T/A, why would a converter and ET Streets be one of your first upgrades? Do you know the guy, to verify what he actually has? I watched an auto run, with similar mods, just add an exhaust, and an unused bottle of NO2, run a 12.8 at Englishtown. You should be below that with your mods, I would think.

 

7.94 is a low 12 sec 1/4. You will have your hands full.

 

after seeing that i agree that you might have your hands full,i cant get out of the 8's in the 1/8,i run 12.6 in the quarter
