winterizing the truck ???

What should I do this winter when parking my truck, I never parked it before. What are the steps for doing this I know I'm going to fill it up with gas so there's no condensation in the tank.
But I heard you should put tranny fluid in the gas to lubricate everything. And I'm going to give it a nice coat of wax.

If you want to go all the way, then buy some gas stabilizer and add to a full tank of gas. I dont know about the tranny fluid in the gas i dont do it. Fully detail the truck, inside and out so when you get it out it will be clean. If youre going to cover it, make sure the surface is reallly clean to avoid scratches. If not just a good coat of wax. You might want to jack the truck up and pull the tires/wheels off to prevent nots in the tires. Im sure theres more but thats usually what i do.

Don't worry about taking the the wheels off, as soon as you drive it a couple miles in the spring the tires are fine again. My truck has been stored alot since buying it (3500 miles since june 99) and the tires are fine. I am more scared of supporting the frame in the wrong place while it sits than the tires.

Fuel stabilizer, full tank of fuel, a good washing and waxing, should about do it. I do remove my battery and charge it occasionally during the winter.

I'll drive it a little during the fall and the start of winter until the snow falls. Once salt hits the street, my L stays in doors. Nothing kills the undercarriage more then salt.
