Brakes

I just started to get a rubbing sensation from my left front brake. Stopped by my friendly dealer last night to see if he could replace the brakes. He tells me that I need a new rotor for the left front side (as well as brakes). I asked him to mic the rotor. He got a reading of 1.156". They claimed that the puter sez that the minimum allowable thickness of the rotor is 1.09". I was told that even if he cuts the rotor, it would prolly go past min. allow. thickness. I have 50,500 miles on the original brakes, never a hint of warpage (rims are always torqued). Does this sound kosher??? I know that I drive at speeds of 75 mph + on a regular basis, but should the rotor lose that amount of meat? I thought that I could get one cut out of a rotor (prior to rivets digging into the rotor) before replacement. Mechanic also said that since I am the only driver and the fuel tank is on the left side of the truck, it is not uncommon for the brake pads to wear faster on the left side than the right side. Do I hear ducks???
Thanks for any info, sorry about the long post!
