You could check your plugs for any signs of burning oil..........
JBL: You should fill(not quite to the top) the filter before you screw it on and use 5.5-6 qts total(I use 6 qts.). By checking your oil level after letting it run for a few seconds, you are not getting a true, accurate oil level. You should let it sit for at least an hour and I let mine sit overnight before I check the level. With 6 qts in and waiting overnight, my oil will show midway between min. and max.

Thanks for chiming in Dan, I thought I was the only one around here that puts oil in my filter before installing (approx 1/2 to 3/4 quart of oil in filter)

If the filter was loose, I would notice oil in my garage floor!!
Wrong, well could be.. When your truck is parked in your garage, there is no oil pressure, or low oil pressure when you go to start it. You could be leaking oil out of a loose filter while @ WOT when the pressure is at its highest...Hope his helps......Scott

Thats what I'm saying - is I fill it up with 6.5 quarts, and I'm just filling the filter by cranking the engine over. Either way works, and you still get 6.5 quarts in.

and I've had my breather cap on for probably 10k miles and do not have oil in the intake. I left PVC alone - no fuel separator.

Why are you people putting in 6.5 qts of oil? The book says to use 6 qts.
6.5 qts is way too much.
