Hey if you do put those stock shakles back on I would be interested in seeing pics of that because the rear looks just a lil low to me with the 2" ones on now....

Looks GREAT Cliff!

You're turning into quite the mechanic

Now get those stock shackles and swipe the bumpstops off Brandon's truck while he's asleep and I think you'll be good to go!

Can't wait to see it in person!

I have the full Roush set up with the stock shackles in the rear and Truk Traks and it sits a little higher in the rear than I would like. Do you have a 1" drop hole in your shackles, if so I think that would be perfect.

I have to crawl under there and look ... If so, I may keep it
like it is 'cause it is REAL close to level ... A one-inch diff really
isn't very much front to rear ...

I checked on the 97 F150 Bump Stops today at FORD and they
are 11.00 ea. so I have to SEE some before I BUY some ...

I heard the 97-99 bump stops were much cmaller. Anyone
know for sure?

Definately much much smaller Cliff.

My 2000 bumpstops don't look anything at all like those yellow beehives you guys have.

Mine are probably, 1/3 the size, if that and look more like the front bumpstops (small black rectangles).

I have not had to cut mine after the drop.

For the fronts, the my Roush kit came with new stops...

This the roush on my 2001 w/o the drop rear shackles. The 2" drop shackles will drop a stock truck 1". It also depends upon the angle the picture is taken as to how the truck looks. I don't know how you don't hit the bump stops with the roush rear leafs and the additional 1" the shackles give you.

How do you figure that the shackles only drop the stock truck 1"? With my FRPP kit, my truck was lowered a full 2". Even though our trucks are ~1" lower than a stock F-150, this drop comes as a result of a reduced arch on the spring, not from longer shackles. Drops that lower the rear via dearched springs will lower a Lightning 1" less than advertised for a standard F-150. Drops that lower via mounting points, i.e. shackles & hangers, will lower an L the same amount as an F-150. Stock shackles and hangers are the exact same parts wheather Lightning or F-150.

See data compiled, above. These are actual drop measurements, not advertised or guestimated.

I used belltech shackles to drop the rear of my 2001 Lightning last year. I used the top holes and the drop was 1". I removed the shackles when I installed the roush kit this year and put the shackles on my fathers 99. It dropped the rear 1". Belltech must have sold me a pair of defective shackles.

Well, I fixed the Bump Stop problem ... I took them off!!!

Now I just gotta test drive it to see if it's OK on the highway.

My trip to Atlanta tomorrow should tell me that ... They seem
OK around town here ...

Daniel, it handles like a dream now ... Thanks for all your
advice ...

ciao!

Just like Cliff said, it handles like a porsche. That being said though, its not for everyone... This is a firm suspension that gives lots of road feedback and is great for the track... you *will* feel the road with it. :) I myself don't mind because it is what I was looking for and the thing corners like a MiniCooper now, but I know it has been a bit too much for some of my passengers who are not used to a performance suspension...of course, I also have a tendancy to ride around town with my QA1's set on 7 (*big grin*) so I can pull hard corners, lol.

Matching shocks are key, so either get some adjustibles or the ROUSH shocks.

Stock leaf (rusty lower) vs ROUSH leaf (painted upper):

Lookin pretty:
